At Bear Creek Dachshunds, we have proudly specialized in miniature dachshunds for over 30 years. Our program was founded by Kim and Nancy and has grown into a true family operation, now run by Kim alongside her daughters—Lauren Ware, Hannah Birmingham, Bailey Jones, and Ashleigh Davis.
Located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, we are dedicated to producing dachshunds with excellent temperament and sound conformation, always striving to better the breed. Our puppies are raised in a loving, hands-on environment from birth and are well-socialized early on, including regular interaction with children of all ages.
Our dogs enjoy life on a 5-acre ranch with plenty of room to roam. Each puppy goes home with AKC limited (pet) registration, age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming, a genetic health guarantee, and a Purina Pro Plan puppy kit.
We do not sell to pet stores, brokers, or puppy mills.
We do genetic testing on our breeding dogs through Embark, Gensol, and UC Davis.
PLEASE NOTE - a deposit will be required to reserve puppy of choice. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. We no longer accept PayPal for deposits, but we do accept Zelle, Apple Pay, Venmo or Cash app. Deposits go towards the total balance of the puppy.
Dachshunds come in three coat types and two different sizes. The coat types are smooth, long, and wire. They also come in miniature and standard sizes. We raise miniatures, however it is not uncommon to have a "throwback" where a puppy from two mini parents grows to be standard in size since miniature dachshunds all were originally standard. The dachshund breed is very easy to maintain and care for. Dachshunds have a long life span and can easily live more than 15 years. Dachshunds are confident, playful and make excellent family pets.
